RIS's Jubilee! ! !
At 10.30 on the 29th of November it was Rotorua Intermediate's 50th Jubilee. As we stuffed on our shoes and socks and piled into the Hall/Gym most of B2 noticed a huge new statue sitting in the middle of this new area that had been made especially for this occasion. When we eventually got into the Hall we were one of the first houses to be placed on the right side. When the whole school had been stuffed in the hot Hall we had to wait for what felt like ages to some people so that the former teachers, students and foundation staff could greet and meet up with each other. When they had finished it was Powhiri time!!!
As the Powhiri began all the other non Kapa Haka/ Purple House students had to sit down and be quiet. The Powhiri felt like it took ages but there was lots of songs that I knew so I could sing along to. When the Powhiri there were lots of adults and elderly people that talked and said speeches. I found out that Mrs Vasar had worked at Rotorua Intermediate for 20 WHOLE YEARS. Mrs Morrison who teaches Puberty has worked at Rotorua Intermediate for 17 years.
When everyone had spoken it was time to unveil the sculpture!!! Everyone piled outside by the newly made area so that we could hear/watch the sculpture. This was at around 12-12.30. After the sculpture had been throughly blessed a current Year 08 girl from A3 or A4 named Aleesha and an elderly man who probably attended Rotorua Intermediate School years ago took the Cloak off the sculpture and unveiled it to the rest of the school. The sculpture was called The Manaia. Manaia means Will-Power and Guardian. It was carved by and ex-pupil/ex-student of Rotorua Intermediate School.
Next it was time to preform the Haka as a whole school. I was nervous because I was in the front row. I wasn't sure I knew all of the moves to the last verses. In the end it was really fun and everybody was smiling and happy to have been there to see the Manaia being revealed. We headed to the astroturf and sat under a tree so that we were in the shade and we couldn't get sunburnt. The teachers had decided that we would have a SAUSAGE SIZZLE FOR LUNCH!!! We were allowed 2 Hot Dogs each so that we could get a decent lunch. After we had all gobbled our sausages, tomato sauce and bread we were allowed to go around the school and play, just as long as we didn't desturb any of the other houses.
Altogether the day was absolutely fantastic and everybody should have enjoyed themselves in a different way!!!!!! The only part to me which was sooooo boring was listening to all the elderly people speaking... Well all the speeches really!!!

My Chaotic Holiday...
After I had managed to drag myself out of bed I realized my Mum was asking me a question. As I stumbled into her room her facial effects made me giggle. "What's wrong Mum" I shrieked with laughter. "Your, your h-h-h-hair" she replied. "Somebody slept with the alligators didn't she Lil Miss Tiggii Moo". "I'm pround to say yes I did" I happily replied. I turned around to look at myself in the mirror and all of a sudden I ended up rolling around on the end of Mum and Dad's bed. Turns out the question she was asking me was to drag Boo (my little/younger sister) out of bed. Getting myself up was a problem never mind Boo. So I decided it was a brilliant idea to blow an air horn right beside her ear. HOOONNNKKKK!!!!!
Boo was wide awake in no time... Anyway when we eventually got out into the lounge we flicked the TV on and stuck it on MTV (That's our favourite music channel). The song Forgive Me by Leona Lewis popped up. We began bopping to the beat but we were cut short by Mum telling us to hurry and get changed. I chose to wear my pink top thing, black 3 quarter shorts, pink singlet and white overtop type of thing. My Mum had to leave for work and Kennedy was going to a holiday programme called School's Out. That left only Dad and I...
We had a few jobs to do in town so we headed to Hunting and Fishing. Dad drove into the car park to find Adam (a family friend) fly-casting. As soon as we got into the store Dad walked straight over to the fishing part. I can't remember what he brought but we were home in no time. Soon enough my friend arrived with her younger sister. We stuffed my clothes into the boot and headed off to the movies. Her other friend (I didn't know her until we met) was around 15 minutes late but that didn't matter. We had enough time to buy ice-creams, popcorn and drinks...
The House Bunny (the movie we were watching) was about to start and we had just enough time to grab our seats. The House Bunny turned out to be a humorous movie. After... When we eventually got back to her house it was just out about time to feed-out. So we got into really old wrecked clothes (mine weren't really old) and went to feed her pig, Dolly or something like that. I can't remember what happened after that because I got drunk on sparkling grape juice...
FINISHED... THE END...
